Museum Werf ‘t
Kromhout

The historic shipyard ’t
Kromhout, on the Hoogte Kadijk in Amsterdam, became famous because of it's
legendary kromhout engines. The Westcover and Oosthal,
both industrial national monuments, were build around 1880.
Shipbuilding was ended on these docks in 1967 and preparations were made to demolish the place. Thanks to a large contribution by the Prince Bernhard Funds, a new purpose was found for buildings in 1975.
The Westkap is still in use as a shipyard and is surrounded by old vessels. The Oosthal holds a prominent collection of the Kromhout museum giving the building a unique ambiance.
This very special maritime location, situated on the Nieuwe Vaart, is particularly suitable host dinners, receptions, lectures and corporate presentations. The hall can be rented on a daily basis, with the exception of Tuesday when the museum opens its doors to the public.
The Oosthal can be rented for events where guests sit or stand on a sturdy floor between historic and still functioning Kromhout engines.
The area is also particularly suited for daytime activities such as lectures, workshops,
A dinner is limited to 175 persons, a reception to 250.
The Vondelkerk

The Vondelkerk (Vondel church) is a unique
and beautiful monument at the edge of the Vondel park, nearby Leidseplein.
P.J.H. Cuypers, the architect of buildings like the Centraal Station, the Rijksmuseum and of
course the Posthoornkerk, build and developed the Vondelstraat. In his vision of building a perfect society, he build this church right in the middle of the housing complex. The first stone of this neo gothic cross-basilica was laid on March 1 1872.
When the heavily neglected building was about to be demolished a foundation started looking for ways to save the building and giving it a purpose again. This foundation set up in 1980,
raised funds to have the building restored saving it for posterity.
It is possible to rent the nave of the Vondelkerk at night and at weekends for lectures, dinners and receptions.
Recently the church has also become available to hold wedding ceremonies. The building can also be used to hold musical performances and cultural manifestations. Civil marriages ceremonies can be performed in the building since 2003. The church has sitting room for 150 people, when hosting a reception there is room for 250 persons.
The Amstelkerk

The Amstelkerk (Amstel church) was build in between the years of 1668 -1670. It served as an emergency church for the inhabitants of the just completed second ring of the famous Amsterdam canals. The design by the city's master buider Daniël Stalpaert was of such a simple nature that people often refered to it as the 'preekschuur' (sermon barn). In the end, the big plans that were made to build a large proper church on the Amstelveld were never finalized and the emergency church still stands today.
The building seats 180 people when in theatre mode, at receptions the building can hold up to 280 persons. The round tables give place to 100 dinner quests and the long ones 150.
The Duif

In April 1857 the first stone was laid for this house of God after the design of the
Leidsen architect Th. Molkenboer. During the 20th century, the building was severely neglected and continued to waste away. In the end the building was restored and opened its doors again in 2002.
The Duif (the pigeon) can be rented on a daily basis for, for instance lectures, symposiums, dinners, receptions and condolences. The building has great acoustics and is therefore well suited to host recitals or concerts. The Duif is a great place to get married in.
When arranged like a theatre the building can seat 400 people, when set up for a dinner party or banquet 250 persons can be accommodated, at receptions 500.
Reguliersgracht
63

Right in the centre of Amsterdam, we find a wonderful 19th century
national monument designed by architect Isaac Gosschalk. This building was renovated in
the the old authentic style preserving every detail. Its three hundred square meters are divided over 5 floors.
These premises offer a splendid environment for dinners of up to 12 persons besides receptions for a maximum of 20 people. It can also be used as a meeting room or holding a presentation in a marvelous ambiance. This national monument is also for hire as a place to spend your wedding night, in combination with a party in the Amstelkerk or Duif for example.
Eastindiaman Amsterdam
VOC ships like the Amsterdam sailed to the Far East. The outward journey took around eight months, the return voyage one month less. From 1602 to 1795, 1461 East Indiamen made 4800 voyages. Less than 4 per cent (192) were lost at sea.
The original Amsterdam sailed up the North Sea in 1749. In a raging storm the rudder snapped. The master decided to beach the brand-new ship on the south coast of England. Thus he hoped to save the people on board, the cargo and the vessel.
But the East Indiaman soon sank into the mud, never to be freed again. The wreck has provided archaeologists with valuable information about the construction of VOC ships, their cargoes and life on board.
The Amsterdam, a VOC ship from 1990
In 1985, almost 200 years after the demise of the Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie, the keel was laid for a new East Indiaman. The original example was largely copied during construction. But modern standards also created differences: the hull and decks are made of tropical wood instead of oak, there is standing room between the decks, the spars are glued and stairs replace ladders. More than 400 volunteers worked on this new Amsterdam, which has been berthed at the Maritime Museum since 1991.
Noord-Holland Catering can create a unique meeting, presentation or party (small or large) in this beautiful setting where almost everything is possible. Your guests will experience the atmosphere of historical times.
The strength of the location are the possibilities. Besides the already mentioned meetings, presentations or party’s, there are many more options, like weddings, network meetings, corporate parties and dinners.
Especially the combination between the ship and the Maritime Museum which is situated nearby provide a unique location (the Maritime Museum is currently being renovated and will re-open in 2011 ).
The Posthoornkerk

The neo-gothic Posthoornkerk
is the first church P.J.H. Cuypers buld in Amsterdam. Later in his career,
he would also build central station and the Rijksmuseum. Building started in
September 1861. The church had to be build on an extremely small plot of land
and has therefore two galleries instead of one.
The church fell out of use and was about to be demolished in the 1980ties but in
86 the Posthoornkerk foundation came up with a plan to save this gloriously
designed church. The building is, now that it is renovated and redisgned, used as office space besides still having an area for receptions and dinners. The
Vondelkerk, also build by Cuypers was given another life in much the same way.
The Posthoornkerk is for rent to host dinners, receptions, presentations en lectures. The building is also well suited to hold concerts and theatric or cultural presentations. Dinner parties may hold no more than 200 persons, the same number, 200 hundred people are allowed at a theatre performance, at a reception up to 300 persons may attend.
The Kleine Werf

This old renovated ships and carpentry wharf on the Prinseneiland in the heart of Amsterdam is now a place to hold workshops and conferences in a 17th century
combined with all the comforts and facilities of this age.
The Kleine Werf (little warf) and its beautiful large windows looking out over the Bickersgracht is most of all an inspiring location where ideas can ripen and guest be pleasantly surprised by the lovely authentic surroundings.

Uilenburger synagogue

Somewhat hidden in the Uilenburgerstraat stands another marvelous building, the Uilenburger synagogue .
The Uilenburger synagogue was put into use in 1766; it was the fifth synagogue of the
Hoogduitse gemeente. It was a building in which various activities took place.
The actual synagogue was located upstairs while weddings were held on the ground floor area. After 1889 part of the ground floor was also used to ritually slaughter birds. This location is particularly suited to hold weddings, dinners, concerts, business meetings and workshops.
The Amsterdam marionette
Theatre
The Amsterdam Marionette Theatre is situated not far from the Nieuwmarkt, the heart of the old city centre.
When you enter the premises and close the door behind you, you are greeted by an oasis of peace and grace right there in the middle of busy Amsterdam.
A form of theatre popular in the days of Mozart is exhibited here, in this intimate and styleful house, a unique and universal form of theatre: Marionette opera.
De theatre hall is flexibly furnished and is an ideal location to host dinners, receptions,
presentations and business meetings.
Noord Holland Catering could for instance combine the use of this location with a high tea.
The Bagagehal
The Bagagehal (baggage hall), situated in hanger 6, was previously used to process the enormous amount of luggage to the baggage holds of the ocean steamers owned by the KNSM. (Royal Dutch Shipping Company)
A unique location, that inspires you by its both colossal and monumental size, and its raw industrial character. Rightly so the Bagagehal is sometimes also called a bunker with noblesse. On the floor above the baggage hall you'll find the central hall with a wonderful view across the IJ (harbor). Both areas suit themselves well to hold receptions, product presentations, luncheons and dinners.
We also are well connected to a number of tourist canal boat companies
and lounge boat operators for you never really get bored touring the marvelous canals of Amsterdam whether by canal tour boat or antique lounge boat.
And yet again, its so much better when you've got something nice to drink with it.

a buffet, coffee and cakes, a BBQ or a complete menu on the boat might just be
the perfect close of your day in Amsterdam, or just the beginning of a wonderful evening.
