Makelaars Comptior

This ancient guildhall of 1633 was the Amsterdam office for the brokers and dealers in goods, such as coffee, tobacco and grain. In this building the brokers held strictly confidential meetings. Although the guild system was abolished long ago, the activities of the Amsterdam guild brokers continued well into the 20th century. This is the reason that this historic guildhall is preserved.

In the boardroom on the ground floor hangs a wooden rose, which is the symbol of confidentiality and in this room the important management issues were discussed. The room has a beautiful 18th-century fireplace. The boardroom on the first floor has a fireplace, old wooden beams and stained-glass windows. The guildhall is available for small private gatherings and meetings, lunches and dinners.

Schellingwouderkerk
- Amsterdam
At
the foot of a dyke, near the Oranjesluizen in the north of Amsterdam,
stands the little church of Schellingwoude. Historic research carried
out both before and during its restoration revealed that, since
the 14th century, different churches have stood on this site. The
current – originally Protestant – church was built in
1866. Its restoration was completed in 2000.
The Schellingwouderkerk is the smallest
church managed by Stadsherstel. However, because of its rural location,
it has proven to be an excellent spot for romantic weddings. As
the church can be rented daily from 9am until midnight and it's
easy to reach by car, it has proven to be an extremely popular location
for workshops, dinners, small conferences or lectures. The church
is also equipped with an organ that can be used for a small fee.
It seats 80 persons. For dinner events it has space for 50 people
and for receptions, 100.

Het
West Indisch Pakhuis - Amsterdam
The West Indisch Pakhuis (west indian
wharehouse) is situated at the ’s-Gravenhekje, a place that
takes you back to the days when the tides still rolled into the
city. A time when the sea still held a prominent place in Hollands
flourishing economy. A time when The Netherlands were still a major
player on the world's scene.
Master builder Keyser drew the first
designs for what was then still called the West Indisch Huis in
1641. it was to be a multi functional building for the West Indische
Compagnie. It became both a warehouse and a slaughterhouse, it was
also the place where the gentlemen (administrators, governors, directors
and managers) of the Amsterdam department of the company met. The
'Commies d' Equipage' and the skippers of the yachts of the Geoctrooide
West Indische Compagnie, lived in the lower sections of the house.
The brick frontage of the building,
the sand stone tracks surrounding the windows and shutters, the
top on the Prins Hendrikkade besides the two tops at the back of
the building, these together with the frontons make this warehouse
into a unique structure.
At a lovely location on the edge of the city near the harbor, this
location could well be the perfect spot for your event.
